The Bee Cause featured on GPB Education

You never know where you will find The Bee Cause!

Did you know King Tut, an Egyptian Pharaoh who lived more than 3,000 years ago, was buried with a jar of honey? It just goes to show that the sweet syrup produced by our honeybee friends has held high value for humans for thousands of years.

Viewers learned this – and so much more – during GPB Education’s live stream on May 9th from the State Botanical Garden. Live Exploration: Georgia Pollinators featured pollinator experts, including our own cofounder Tami Enright. The live broadcast had an estimated audience of more than 350,000.

Becky Griffin, Community & Garden Coordinator at University of Georgia, was another featured expert. A friend of The Bee Cause, Becky shared the basics of pollination, pollinator attraction, and The Great Southeast Pollinator Census. Viewers were also treated to a peek inside the UGA Honey Bee Lab with Jennifer Berry and Jack Garrison and toured Gratitude Botanical Farm with owner and farmer Chris Lemons.

The 30-minute program is packed with incredible pollinator information. Gather your family and watch together; the entire broadcast is now available to view right here!
