Fundraise

Pay it Forward Program

Generate funds to cover buzzworthy materials or supplies for your environmental programming by selling The Bee Cause Private Label Honey to your community!

This program is available to all Bee Grant recipients as well as any organization seeking an opportunity to fundraise. If your program needs to add to the “Hive Fund,” start a pollinator garden project or fund any number of environmental education programs, our Pay It Forward Honey Sale is the easiest and most popular way to pay it forward.

Our partners at the Savannah Bee Company provide beautiful jars of Bee Cause honey that retail at $15 a bottle. For each bottle sold, $5 goes towards your organization’s fund and $10 goes towards helping another school pay for the installation of its own bee program. This direct sales opportunity makes a great ‘Fall in Love with Honey’ Fundraiser, Winter Holiday Fundraiser, or Valentine’s ‘Sweet Treat’ Fundraiser! Check out the PDF fliers below. They are easy to download, add your organization’s logo, print, and distribute in your community.  The program also helps The Bee Cause give more hives to more schools and non-profit organizations.

Tips from the Experts

  • Pre-sales are a MUST — see our sample flyers below
  • Purchase one extra jar for the customers to sample with disposable popsicle sticks. Once they taste how amazing the honey is, they will come back year after year.
  • Allow the students to create gift tags for the honey jars — there is nothing more adorable than bee facts written by kids!
  • Share honey sale content on Social Media by sharing your stories and tagging @thebeecause. People are more willing to support a fundraiser when they learn what The Bee Cause is all about.

Here is the feedback from some of the most successful Pay-It-Forward Fundraisers in our network.

“The Pay It Forward program is amazing! Our school used this program as a way to celebrate National Honey Month and to kick off our school year with a back-to-school fundraiser. We raised funds for our school and more importantly we raised funds for other schools and programs like ours. We plan to use what we raised to enhance our observation hive site and purchase materials to go with the lesson plans and activities from The Bee Cause curriculum. Thank you Bee Cause!” — Sarah McCain, Mary C. Dondero School

“My favorite part of being involved with the Bee Cause Project is the Pay it Forward program. Not only does it teach the students the importance of giving back but it also provides our school with funds to purchase hive equipment and supplies. The students are passionate about this project because they know they are helping another school receive an observation hive like the one we received years ago through this same program! It truly is a Bee-autiful arrangement” — Beth McCarty, Ashley Hall

“The Pay It Forward program has supported our youth program by allowing them to earn money at the farmer’s market and develop entrepreneurship skills while engaging customers and educating them on bees. The Pay It Forward program has encouraged our youth to continue to sow for success in creating bee awareness.” — Zenaida Flores, Rescue MI Nature NOW, Inc.

These educators have discovered that preselling the honey before ordering through The Bee Cause saves them time and effort. Consider a Google Form email or a simple flyer that can be printed and shared with your community.
