The Bee Grant Is Opening Soon – Here’s What You Need to Know!

Applications for The Bee Grant open September 1! If you’re planning to enrich your students’ learning through pollinator education, this is the perfect opportunity to get started.
What’s a Bee Grant?
The Bee Grant program champions conservation and environmental stewardship by providing live bee educational resources to schools and non-profit organizations. This grant empowers educators nationwide to cultivate STEAM skills and instill a lifelong passion for conservation in children. Grant recipients are awarded with a live bee hive, comprehensive lesson plans, and essential educational materials to bring pollinator science to life. This program is powered by Whole Kids Foundation in partnership with The Bee Cause Project.
What makes the Bee Grant so valuable?
A Living Learning Experience
Before welcoming live bees, educators can dive into pollinator lessons with the Back to School Bee Program. This ensures that students start buzzing with excitement right away. Our most successful applicants begin with this curriculum.
A Supportive Hive of Mentors & Advocates
You’re not on your own. A successful Bee Program is built around your Bee Advocate (that’s you!), a local beekeeper mentor, and a dedicated Bee Club of at least three committed community members. Together, you’ll guide the program toward long-term success.
Prep for Every Twist and Turn
Our grant overview guide prepares you for early discussions with administrators, facilities, and insurance – steps needed to get your bees approved. Downloadable resources like grant guides, safety letter templates, and insurance-ready documentation help navigate administrative requirements.
Beyond the Grant
Bees may swarm or occasionally perish due to factors beyond anyone’s control. But with our Pay-It-Forward fundraising platform, you’ll be equipped to handle ongoing expenses, like replacing a hive or funding your beekeeper’s time.
We also extend our support to past grant recipients with an invitation to join the private Facebook group “The Bee Cause Project Educators, Supports, Advocates” in order to stay connected and keep collaborating.
